INTREPID™ MicroTrack™ II is a volumetric, terrain-following sensor that reliably detects and precisely locates walking, running, or crawling intruders along a perimeter. MicroTrack™ II incorporates enhanced digital signal processing (DSP) to pinpoint the location of perimeter disturbances within 3 m while discriminating legitimate intrusions from harmless disturbances caused by small animals or environmental factors. With a detection range of 400 meters (1312 ft) per processor, the system consists of a processor unit and two sensor cable pairs that may be buried along a facility’s perimeter in soil, asphalt, rock, or concrete. MicroTrack II’s unique “Sensitivity Leveling” calibration feature compensates for variation in ground media to achieve uniform detection along the protected area. It also offers flexible, software-controlled zoning to suit a site’s unique requirements.
